Born and raised on the lower slopes of Bray Head looking down over the quiet fishing village of Greystones in County Wicklow I spent great times playing on the family farm and by the sea. Later I moved to Hastings in East Sussex, then Cork and finally settled in Galway in 1994.

Having always loved art I began painting part time in 2011. I love the wild ever-changing landscapes and seascapes of the West of Ireland. As well as landscapes and seascapes I do still life, portraiture and abstract designs. My work falls into the genre of Realism with high levels of detail.

Oil paints are my favourite, I love the ease of blending and manipulating them to create whatever shades and effects I desire. I also like to use pencil for portraits.

Courses I have taken include Bernadine Burke’s Art, Pat Goff Artist at Pontoon Bridge, Rosemary Fallon’s Art School, Grace Cunningham’s Workshops and Life drawing at MyArtClass with Mark Smith

Exhibitions I have taken part in are; Galway Art Club annual summer exhibition since 2015, GRAPE (Greystones Art & Photography Exhibition) and Connections Art Fair 2017. In 2018 I had a shared exhibition with Mary Cooke Conneely at the Portershed. I have also had a table/space at markets; Handmade in Galway, Spiddal Christmas pop-up shop, Spring Fair at KETNS , Galway Christmas Market and Umbrella Eile.

Plein Air days I have done with the Galway Art Club and Art in the Open 2016.

Lately, I am concentrating on my miniature and mini-series of paintings whose focus is on “a more personal space”. These are tailored towards scenes people have a connection with, like your dog or pet, your favourite relatives house, a place you like to visit, something you see every day or any image you care to send me.
